Looking Posh on a Budget

by Lizard Thicket on 08/26/10

Do you ever envy one of your favorite celebrity's outfit?  Why not recreate it?  Victoria Beckham is seen wearing one of the biggest fall trends, the blazer.  She paired this simple black blazer with a basic grey tank and an olive cropped pant.  At Lizard Thicket it is easy to put this outfit together at a fraction of the price! (The entire outfit rings in at only $99.98!)  These separates look great together but also could be worn with so many different pieces!  The classic black blazer can be coupled with shorts during these last summer months, a cute dress to add a feminine touch, or even a nice skirt for an office appropriate outfit! The cropped pant look is also very "in" this fall.  At Lizard Thicket we have a variety of colors in blazers, cropped pants, and basic tanks! Switch it up or keep it simple and posh like Victoria Beckham.

Transitioning Into Fall Trends

by Lizard Thicket on 07/30/10

This Fall it's all about the military neutrals!  Whether you are sporting army green, taupe, sandy cream, or a shade of brown you will definitely be on trend! These colors give a great earthy feel and can be quite feminine paired with the right things! For example, with the structured cream top seen on the right, the scarf adds a feminine touch while the skinny jeans keep you looking slim!  Love a great floral?  Try the fall floral dress in the middle! Adding an army green shrug adds a little warmth while the military inspired belt cinches everything in and gives the outfit a little edge! The fun fall outfit on the left is the perfect transition into fall.  The cap sleeve sweater top is great now with skinny jeans and can move into fall by just adding a long sleeve shirt underneath.  Once again, skinny jeans are great for longer tops and tunics to keep the bottom portion of your body looking slim and sleek.  Another option underneath these tops is leggings! Throw on a great brown legging or even now a jegging to switch up the look!  (We have just gotten in several different pairs of jeggings- a mixture between leggings and skinny jeans that are oh so comfortable and perfect for Fall!)  As you can see, this military neutrals trend can be easily incorporated into your wardrobe this Fall! Lizard Thicket has lots of it and we will be glad to help you find the perfect pieces to fit your style!

by Lizard Thicket on 05/25/10

No matter what you are up to this Memorial Day Weekend you will need to make sure some type of red, white, and blue attire is involved! Patriotism is made even more fun with the right clothes.  Lucky for you, Lizard Thicket just got in a plethora of All-American clothing in the new shipment!  Whether you get brave and decide to sport this striped romper or play it safe with a cool, confident denim dress you will most certainly be stylish on this very special day.  These options are not only great for Memorial Day but also for the Fourth of July (which is closer than it seems) and Atlanta Braves games!  So have lots of fun this weekend outdoors in this beautiful weather and remember our amazing troops with a patriotic pop to your outfit!

Romp Around Town

by Lizard Thicket on 05/10/10

Rompers, one of the most popular items this spring, are a little bit of a fashion hurtle for some people.  Lots of people come in the store slightly weary of this new romper craze.  My advice: try them on! Rompers come in all different shapes, sizes, and styles.  From casual cotton rompers, to colorful fun rompers, to dressy "going-out" rompers. Lizard Thicket has a wide selection of this new trend for you to try for yourself.  Another thing, they are so easy... just like a dress, with rompers all you have to do is throw on some cute shoes and matching jewelry! The only way to figure out which works well with your body type is to give them a shot!  So be brave ladies, dive in and give this adorable spring trend a try!

A little background...

As I'm sure you saw in our newsletter, rompers are not new to fashion.  This retro-inspired look was first seen on toddlers in the early 1900's.  Around 1930 rompers were transformed into women's wear in the form of bathing suits.  Katherine Hepburn was one of the first women to wear a romper for every day use.  (Sure, hers looked a lot different from the ones today.)  Claire McCardell was one of the earliest romper designers, who actually called some of her designs "playsuits".  Like most other fashions and trends, rompers have gone in and out over the years.  For example, rompers in jumpsuits were extremely "in" in the 1980's, went "out" for a while and now they are back!

Come in to one of the two Lizard Thicket locations to try this new trend out yourself! We also have several examples in the merchandise section of our website!

Lizard Thicket's New Website!!

by Lizard Thicket on 05/06/10

You may have noticed that www.shoplizardthicket.com has a slightly different look! We are in the process of launching this new website to give you all the most up-to-date information we can on new merchandise, what is going on with the store, and fashion and trend news.  We will no longer be selling off of the website because of difficulties in keeping up with the constantly changing merchandise in our stores.  As you know, each Lizard Thicket store only gets roughly six pieces of each style that they sell and they fly off the racks! Also, new styles come in daily! The idea is to give you the first glimpse of new arrivals (maybe before they are even on the sales floor) so you can then visit a Lizard Thicket boutique and see them in person!
