The Concert Style Guide:

Do you have a concert coming up and still have no idea what to wear? In this post I am going to help you shop and style your next concert outfit from top to bottom.

Styling for an event like this can have endless possibilities. Dressing for your genre is always a good rule to follow...

Let's say you're going to a country concert. You already have your aesthetic to match. Western clothing can be one of the most fun aesthetics to tailor to you. Whether or not you prefer a more chic simple look or have a more grunge aesthetic, denim is always going to be there for you. With today's style trends denim is being styled every way you can think of.

Are you more into indie music maybe? Your best friend here is going to be following the boho aesthetic. Bohemian styles will mainly follow a more soft and flowy silhouette. Using textures and layers to help create the perfect outfit.

Are you someone who loves music they can dance to? If you're going to see your favorite Pop icon then I would take inspiration from the most current trends circulating. This being the most widespread genre you can style anything from a cute polkadot top, a more oversized look, or even sparkles and rhinestones.

Once you have found the aesthetic you want to follow there are three main important rules to remember. Style, comfort, and functionality:

  • Style: Always start with a good base. Even if it is just one item you know you want to wear, start building up from there. A good outfit is never fully complete without some accessories to really elevate the look. Adding jewelry, a hat, a belt or silk scarf can really help the outfit look complete. Try to add at least 3 accessories to an outfit.
  • Comfort: Comfort is key! The last thing you want to feel is uncomfortable or self conscious in your outfit when trying to have a fun night. Make sure to find shoes you can walk in and an outfit that you won't need to adjust every few minutes. This is important to ensure you can focus on the music and having a good time!
  • Functionality: If you are going to a venue that does not allow outside bags or has a clear bag policy do not worry! Finding a cute and comfortable clear bag is simple, but I would still try to remember to incorporate function into your outfit. Pro tip: clip your car keys to your belt loop so you won’t lose them!

While you mainly go to a concert to enjoy the music and the people you came with, don’t forget how important the perfect outfit can be. When taking photos and making memories that will last a lifetime you will feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. Remember to have fun with your style and dress however you want to!

Have fun this summer!!
